Why Accreditation Matters

Accreditation at North Idaho College, or the standard in which a school is measured, is at risk. But what does that mean for our community? It means we would need to pay more and go farther to obtain a “for credit” education and training.

If we can’t meet basic standards, who would attend? Would a degree from an unaccredited school be viewed competitively by employers looking to hire qualified candidates for skilled labor? Would businesses be able to train to the degree they need to train at an unaccredited educational facility? The answer is no.

Save NIC understands accreditation is an important economic engine in our region that provides:

1.   Educational Opportunities for citizens.

2.   Economic Vitality for our region.

3.   North Idaho College is a great value for students, families, and the bottom line for taxpayers and the business community.
